Being overweight seems almost to be a symptom of the modern world, and hand in hand with our excess pounds, of course, are all the risks of the attendant health problems that go with obesity.
For many people being overweight also impacts heavily on their self image and self esteem, so it is hardly surprising that so many of us are obsessed with weight loss.
There are as many ways to approach the problem as there are people trying to lose weight. The more obvious of these methods range from dieting, exercising, or taking up a sport or some activity, and also more extreme methods like surgery.
Perhaps, as we are often advised, the most sensible approach is to educate ourselves about healthy eating, and to start doing some form of exercise – under medical supervision if necessary.
What works for one person will very likely not work for another, so on this site, we will not make judgements about the merits or demerits of any diets or system, but simply post whatever information we have on that topic whether it be diets, food combining, exercise equipment, or anything else related to weight loss.
